Bilstiens on PV
Just fitted a pair of Bilsteins on the 940 and it has transformed the ride. Am thinking if possible to change the standard Munroes on PV for Bilsteins or similar. The Pv feels very bouncy. Any thoughts on this?

I found bilsteins on a pv to be a bit soft.Remember that the damper is fitted to top and bottom wishbone on a pv,so the actual travel on the shock is very small. When going to fit twin damper setups the the best setup I found was one Bilstein and one spax adjustable per side!

In the Mercedes world there are at least three different shock absorber versions available from Bilstein - I haven't investigated their offerings for a PV (I just got Monroes cos they were cheap)
I fitted HD Bilsteins to a W123 and got a very silly stiff jiggly ride for my old bones. I personally think the comfort versions would have suited me better. I fitted Sachs comforts to a different Mercedes and was a happier bunny... ...I guess it depends what you are trying achieve. If you are trying to get as close as possible to responsive sports car then I reckon you'd have to go for poly bushings as well |
