Remote not working, cannot unset alarm, will not start on ke

Hi All
My problem is the remote will not unlock the car or disable the immobiliser. Using the key in the front driver's door opens that door only, no others, and when I put the key in the ignition and turn it all the warning symbols flash but nothing else. Also the central orange triangle is lit.
I've put a new battery in the fob with no change.
Next I'll check the battery connections.
Have you any suggestions?
Thanks
Dave

start by charging the battery. try a different key and try holding it closer to the uem in the mirror if still not working try to get codes read with vida.

got any HIAB lorries nearby pouring concrete or using remote control cranes etc

sometimes it's disturbance from external sources

sometimes not

not sure how the orange triangle factors into that though

What a plonker!!

Battery down to 5volts. AA man pointed out that the light switch was in the "sidelights" position so the battery had drained overnight! He also checked the remotes' batteries to confirm they were good. Started easily with his booster and I left it on my "intelligent" charger overnight and it's all back to normal.
Won't make that mistake again, or will I??

you are not the first to fall into this trap and I'm sure you wont be the last its not the best idea volvo have ever come up with that allows the battery to drain over night because of the position of a switch.. good news that you are up and running again:regular_smile::regular_smile:
