1966 P1800S Headlining question

Hi. My headlining is hanging down slightly on the drivers side of the car only.
It appears to have come away from the seam. there are no rips or tears but I can`t live with it. Would this be an easy repair for a vehicle trimmer. When I rang a local auto trim shop they advised that it could be a major job depending how the roof liner is fixed and what it is fixed to. I could not answer as I did not know. Any advice appreciated . Many thanks Paul.

it's a tricky job to get it right. There are complete replacement kits, I think they are easier than what I did. The fabric hangs on three metal strips and the thin triplex surround. The fabric is stapled onto that frame, with the right amount of tension. That is the most difficult part. And getting it mounted, without breaking the fragile triplex surround again. Mine broke because I caused too much tension on the fabric. First time for everything...
I got this non-original black lining off Ebay, to match my black interior. That's why I painted the wood frame black too, the fabric is perforated.

Brookhouse sell a complete liner kit with the roof liner and 3 separate vinyl tubes. Do these glue on or are they to be stitched in place. Decided I am not going to attempt it myself. Regards Paul
