One of two C70s for sale 52(03 model) 2.4GT or 05 T5 GT

Reluctantly, I have to sell one of my C70 convertibles as only the T5 is getting used. I can't make up my mind which one I wont to let go so I'm offering both for sale, which ever sells first, I'll keep the other one.

First up is a Nautic blue pearl 2.4 T GT Auto 52 plate 88K beige interior, blue roof.

Everything works, including the A/C
New front springs fitted 09/16
Cambelt changed @ 72,721 miles
Steering rack changed (by Volvo) @ 84k

Full service history up to 10/2016
Oil and filter changed 10/2017 Self service as car had only done 1,500 since last service. Full service due. MOT due 15/2019 but I will get this done

Good points - mechanically sound, I've been told by a Volvo mechanic that it is a good car and when I collected it from the MOT centre last year, the MOT inspector commented on how good a condition it was for a 16 year old car.

Bad points -
there are four light dents on the bonnet - suspect a bouncing golf ball is the culprit! Been quoted £80 to remove them but I've been looking for a replacement from a scrapper as a better option. Seats are in a very good condition. Scuff on front bumper left quarter.

The interior needs new door and rear cards, the car was kept in the south of France for a long time and it looks like someone tried to restore the faded colour with a poor spray job. Also, I've started a repair of the usual wind breaker damage to one card.

I'm looking for £1,400 - just needs a couple of 100£ spent on it to bring it up to a very good low miles example.

Second is my 2.3 T5 GT Auto 05 plate 127K (9k by me in the past 2 years) Silver with black roof and near mint dark grey "Collection Edition" interior. Rear parking sensors, strut brace and wind breaker.

Good service history - mostly Volvo, last service 12/2017, 12 year service by Volvo independent and included gearbox oil and filter change. Service due now, MOT due 09/2019,

New standard "comfort" front springs fitted earlier this year but I've kept the "dynamic" springs if you want to put them back on the car (£106 each +VAT from Volvo) - I found the front end too firm with the dynamic springs.

New inner tie rods changed along with new track rod ends and drop links fitted early 2017. New Brembo front disks and pads fitted this summer.

Gearbox serviced @ 89k by Automatic Gearbox Specialists Bridgetown Staffs

Good points - very quick car, mechanically sound, good condition bodywork and roof, exceptional condition interior. HiD lights conversion.

Bad points - dent on lower rear skirt - not that noticeable, quoted £150 to repair. Roof has intermittent closing issue caused by those elastic strips being too loose and not pulling in the fabric properly when opening - only happened a couple of times in the 2 years that I have owned the car. Just needs new elastic strips fitted or just make sure the fabric doesn't get trapped when the roof is stowed.

Car has just started with a clunk from the left front suspension on full lock - 90% certain it's worn lock stops or could be the drop link (the ones I fitted were cheap).

Looking for £1,800 - high miles but the interior is the best you will find!

Cars are in Chesterfield, any inspection welcome, pictures available via email

Thank you

James, give Minty a ring on 07841 056796. He was breaking one not so long ago and may be able to help. He is based in Derby.

Hi Tony

Did you manage to sell either of your cars?
I'm looking into buying a C70 auto (to keep my newly acquired Volvo habit going)
I recently sold my V70 T5 and have missed the power.
My wife is bored with her Astra Twin Top and I struggle to drive my MR2 with my arthritis, so I'm looking to get something we can both enjoy.
Are you able to post any pictures?

Cheers
Andy
