front windscreen pillars removal advise
Hi All,
My front windscreen internal pillar trims are covered with cloth material however, due to sun damage they are pealing away. Can anyone suggest the best way to remove them to repair/ glue without causing more damage? Also, thinking about using a spray glue any suggestions? Thanks in advance Steve. |
If you do a youtube search for 'S60 A pillar trim removal' you will find a good video by a guy with the username Peppermint. There's a safety clip which stops the trim piece from flying off in the event of an airbag deployment and you have to be careful not to break it.
For the glue search 'headliner glue' on ebay. Trim fix is the one I would probably go for but there are others similar. Sorry I haven't posted links. I'm using a chromebook and can't seem to get copy/paste to work on it. Cheers George |
I used Copydex to glue the fabric back on mine. Be warned though, use it sparingly as it came straight through the fabric (very open weave) and I had to be quick with a damp cloth to clean up. Looks much better though

Trim removal
Hi George,
Thanks for the advise. Having seen the video I think my fingers are not so nimble so to avoid a problem I will mask up the glass and surrounding area around the trim panel and spray glue it hoping not to over spray as according to the advise from BL08. Thanks to both of you. Steve. |
