no space for spare wheel.

Just got a 1999 V70 2.5 10v with lpg. As this is my first time running a car on lpg, I wondered what others do with the spare wheel? And if there is no easy answer, what can I use instead if I get a flat.

Tyreweld would be a good start, though its effectiveness is largely dependent on the extent of a puncture.

couple of cans of tyre weald, and some sort of portable air compressor to re-inflate the tyres.

where can I buy tyreweld?? and how much??

saturnuranus Nov 26th, 2008 17:51

eBay, Halfords or pretty much any decent motor factor really.

I keep my full size spare in the boot in a natty little zip-up bag that I got from Autogas 2000.

Tyre weld is ****e, it never works, and knackers your tyre anyway.

Either carry the spare as normal in the boot, or dont bother.

Personally when I het my car done, My drive to work is 2 miles ech way, and most of my driving in the week is in and around town, and probably never more than 15 miles from my house, so if the tyre does go flat, i'll get a lift back to my house for the wheel!

On longer journeys, just carry it in the boot. Cant really see it being an issue.

Not a good idea for AWD models as using these can wreck the bevel gear.

What to do with spare wheel

I saw a picture(s) of one that had the spare mounted vertically in the rear corner of the car passenger side with about 1/3rd sunk below internal floor level presumably by cutting or custom making the wood/cloth flooring.
Seemed to take up little space that way as it only extended out to the wheel arch inside.
