Reduced Engine Performance

Driving home last night I got "Reduced Engine Performance" message pop up on my 58 plate C30 1.6 petrol.

Got codes read this morning at a specialist garage and it came back with throttle position sensor.
The garage said they will look for a new part and booked in next Thursday.

Since being read the fault has not returned.
Is it possible that the fault flagged up as the car was having a funny do and being ready by the DICE has cleared this "fault"?

I've driven over 30 miles since and it has not come back yet.

before you spend some crazy money on new part, do this trick:
clean the insides of throttle body
literally, take hose off of it (the one coming from turbo), get a wipe (lint free) and wipe all the crud that you see off.

some would use spray
i used cloth
you do as you please

an example here:

is the fault persists after this, THEN take it to garage egain

When it happened to my tdi v70 it needed a new throttle pedal.
The joys of fly by wire.

Paul.

The guy mentioned a new pedal as well. Guess it's something they've had to deal with before.
If that's the case then I will have to make sure that they either get a matching one or remove the metal pad from the existing one and fit it to the new one.
