Which map update do I have?

How can I determine if my maps are up to date, or require the latest 1226 version. Many thanks.

In Sensus go to the download centre then the maps icon on the left, this will open the available maps, press the down arrow on the western europe map and it will expand, there will be a small square map with the download version under it.
Thers is also a tick box, for automatic updates (only updates if you are connected to wifi) via data sim in car modem, phone wifi connection or if you can connect to your house wifi while parked outside. Large map downloads require downloading to USB, the latest update downloaded in my car ok via phone wifi.

Just checked, I have the 1216 version, so update is needed. I only picked itup 10 days ago, seems the dealer did not bother to update before delivery. Need a 64gb usb now, my 2016 XC60 only required a 32gb one.

Map updates seem to be something of a grey area and don't seem to be considered to be 'software updates' by dealers, which is probably why your dealer did not update the maps before delivery.

I have updated mine twice now and I only got the car in June so, like yours, it had not been updated by the dealer.
It has been surprisingly easy to do; I picked up a 64Gb usb from Argos, formatted it, and downloaded the update - it took about 3 hours on my slow connection, then started the car before plugging in the usb stick and the update installed automatically.

Needed, or wanted?

You do not have to update the full maps. I only update western Europe (UK, Ireland and Iceland) it's only about 2gb in size.

Same here, I did mine a few weeks ago. The USB stick method did take quite a long time though. But it eventually updated.

Iceland ?? The urban jungle.....mind you many of their inland roads / tracks change each year based on water flow.
