185 D5 Turbo - electronic actuator removal

My D5 euro 4 suddenly has lost power all over the range. No check engine light, but I read error code P0045 - Turbo boost control solenoid circuit open.

I have disconnected the connector on the actuator. I do measure voltage on the connector, so I guess the circuit from the ECM is ok. I tried cleaning it, but no difference. Running the car without the connector plugged in gives the same error code.

Does this sound like a faulty actuator? I want to remove it and get a replacement, but cant figure out how to access the screws holding it in place. Any advice appreciated!

I did manage to finally remove it by first unscrewing the heat shield and front right wheel.

The VNT arm on the turbo moves without any resistance, so I guess the actuator is faulty.
