New voice control available

If someone is unaware and want to update the voice control there is a new release dated 24/10/2019 available to download.

Also hoping it is useful for some, the download manager does not work on MacOS Catalina... get yourself a windows VM, or don't upgrade your Mac :)

Yes have found that out, will have to do it on my old iMac.

So glad I got the Apple CarPlay option as the Volvo voice control is laughable. Nearly everything I say just increases or decreases the temperature. I think I speak pretty normally. But thanks i will update and see if it’s any better. Siri is great in the car though.

I would rather they update the search engine on the map, it’s rubbish. If I search for a Campsite for example it never finds it . Go to the voc app , search there and it’s there. Then send to car. Why the two systems are different is beyond me.

I think the VoC app uses the resources of the device it is on eg Apple Maps etc.

Are these updates possible over the air, directly from the car?

Anyone knows if this one brings any new functionalities/commands to the voice control feature? Volvo didn't bother to provide any details on the update... :rolleyes:

No, but if you say "help" you get a readout of all the commands.
