Require help with D4164T
I hope I am posting in the correct place. My water pump seized and wrecked the cam belt. Had all the exhaust valves replaced, and 2 inlet. Head was skimmed and matching head gasket supplied. It's now all back together but will not start. The engine is the D4164T 1.6D in a V50 2010.
First there seems to be 2 timing settings on the fuel pump and my Haynes manual has pictures using both, one is pointing towards the tensioner pulley which I used, however I noticed the hole in the housing is larger. The other picture shows the timing hole at about 11 oclock and this one is a good fit for the pin.
Should I be using the hole setting at about 11 oclock?
I have been sucking diesel through the top green plug joint at the belt end, is this the best way for priming?
When I try to start the engine it just keeps coughing so I was going to try the fuel pump timing. I really need some good advice with this please.
Any other checks or tips.
