Not happy about this but my V70 has just failed its MOT, bit too much for me to do and I'm not doing many miles so its just gone on Ebay

they are pretty minor issues to fix, just a tyre, a hose and a gaiter, and handbrake adjustment. The insecure exhaust back box is common, hanger bracket is here, £11 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VOLVO-S60...-/362635916556

I agree, not much to do there! Barely run in too at 125k !!! Fix it :)

Another vote in favour! I bought my near identical car four years ago with a few months MOT left to run. Guess what; it required attention to the hand-brake and rear exhaust hanger. As 'Alpine' says, these are very common issues on this model.

I don't know how much yours will make without an MOT, 'Scruff0372', but as a guide, the dealer was asking £700 for my 118k car. I said that I would meet the screen price if he would put a year's ticket on it. He declined, but immediately offered me the car as a 'trade sale' for £550. We shook, and I drove it home. Four years and 12k later, it is running well and has required only very minor repairs in addition to routine servicing.

I'd keep it!

Regards, John.

That looks like a great buy for someone.

Been having so many timewaters on ebay.
However Ive had a message about a 6 month MOT extension due to Covid but not sure if this still applies if if vehicle has failed when taken for MOT.
Anyone know?

Still a couple of days left but now unsure whether the MOT is valid or not.

The MOT extension is void if your car fails the MOT prior to the extension date
