Volvo 240 rear axle

Hello all. I'm after a rear axle for my 1991 Volvo 240. 2.3 estate. Please let me know if you have one.
Thanks

what is up with your axle? Diff? You need to check teh type of tone ring you have as 91 is a crossover

That's interesting. Well good question. One mechanic checked it and said he thinks it's the diff making this awful knocking, vibrating sound, checked other bits but isn't one hundred percent sure. Hes never been wrong before though.
It's going for a second opinion tomorrow but I'm guessing they will say it's an issue with the diff. Hopefully not but likely.
Was told I might aswell replace the rear axle.

Even though the axles fine. Bit odd as the diffs are supposed to be really strong. Hopefully find out more over the next few days

The late axles (supposed to be the strongest) are the ones I have seen the most issues with.

You will need to find out how many cut outs your tone ring has, if it is the later type a diff from a 940 might be a cheaper option

Great. Thanks for the advice

That mechanic is definitely wrong this time then?!?!?!?!?

This was my old axle ^^^^^ TARFU wheel bearings and the diff made more than both combined plus a whine from worn out crownwheel and pinon as well as a chipped tooth on at least one of them.
