V70R 6 Speed Manual For Sale

2 Attachment(s)
Sadly, I need to part company with my lovely V70R. My annual mileage is about to go up a fair bit and I just can't afford the petrol so, will be going to the dark side with a Diesel V70! Advertising it here first as would be happier to see it go to another enthusiast before I open up to the world of tyre kickers on AutoTrader/eBay etc!

People who have been to some of the Crooked Billet meets may well have seen this car and will know that I keep my cars maintained to the highest standard regardless of cost and only ever use genuine parts.

I have spent lots of money upgrading this car so, for someone who is looking for a nicely modified car that has never been on a track and is genuinely not thrashed, this could be the answer

The car has covered 143,500 miles and has a FULL service history with loads of receipts to show maintenance done. I am the 2nd owner and have owned the car 6 1/2 years and bought it when it had 38.000 miles on it. The mileage will go up a little as it is used for local journeys.

Silver with Nordkap Blue leather interior

Replacement engine using stronger 2.4 T5 lump changed July 2011 (original split liner due to boost leak causing overboost)

Ferrita 3" Downpipe with sports CAT
Heico S/Steel CAT back exhaust with QUAD exit pipes (2 each side)
MTE Stage 2 remap (quoted at 365 Bhp, probably closer to 350 Bhp) with 500Nm Torque
Bell uprated FMIC with Evolve protective mesh grille
Aquamist Water Injection
IPD Uprated Front & Rear Roll Bar Kit
Boost Gauge
RTI and Integrated GSM Phone
Electric Drivers Seat with memory
Tilt/Slide Sunroof
Rear Park Assist
Facelift rear lights with LED markers
Facelift wiper arms with flat blades

Replacement parts include:

Transfer box and sleeve to later stronger unit
4 x Shock Absorbers and front and rear top mounts
Starter Motor
Alternator
MAF Sensor
MAP Sensor
5 coil packs
Clutch and Slave cylinder kit
Brake master cylinder
Poly Engine Top mount
Injectors cleaned and tested
Fuel rail pressure sensor
Fuel Pump
Fuel Pump electronic module
All 4 wheel bearings
Handbrake cables, shoes and all springs in handbrake mechanism
A/C re-gassed in 2012 and works fine

To re-iterate, this is a 6 Speed Manual car which is now becoming a very rare find. It is a Model Year 2004 on a '53 reg. There is only tiny scratch on the O/S/R door where someone has caught it with a door other than that the bodywork is immaculate. The alloys are good overall but, have a few small kerb marks on them.

It has recently had 4 Michelin Pilot Sport tyres and new front pads.

MOT is until Jan 2014 and tax until June 2013.

I am looking for £6,250 for the car. Please PM me in the 1st instance if interested or have any questions.

Thanks

Ian

How old and what mileage had the replacement engine covered before you fitted this

burchi Jan 31st, 2013 13:07

Hi

The car was at around 90,000 miles from memory at the time of replacement and was 6.5 years old. I would need to check my receipts at home to be doubly sure.

Thanks

Ian

I'm intregued as to why you chose a 2.4 unit inplace of the 2.5 engine. Did you post a thread on this at the time? Would love to read it.

It's quite common. The 2.5 block is well known for splitting liners, even on unmodified cars. The 2.4 blocks are easier to obtain, cheaper and don't suffer the split liner issues.

Guy on T5D5 who does my servicing. Has a S60R, split the liners on the standard 2.5 lump. Fitted 2.4 and no issues since...apart from the normal angle replacement!

So is this a straight swap, without any modifications needed to install the 2.4 engine, or attaching the gearbox, etc, etc.

Anyone done this as a thread?

The 2.4 lump is basically the same engine as the 2.5 (bar the cc) and is a straight fit but it does need to be mapped accordingly.
