I disconnected the battery then gently cleaned the CEM pins with a very small nylon brush after spraying with contact cleaner, left overnight to dry then reconnected everything.
The terminal pins and sockets looked spotless before I did this with no sign of corrosive product but cleaned anyway. Car starts OK. Idles briefly at 2000rpm then drops to usual 1000ish Check engine light is on while engine running. Will it generally do that for a while after cem has been disconnected until it recalibrates? |

At least you know there is no corrosion , it is likely the network female terminals are a slack fit on the CEM pins .. |

ODB2 to USB cables on eBay all seem to be geared towards different makes/models.
Am I right to assume its a generic standard for the leads and any USB<>OBD2 lead should be OK Don't tell me different leads have different pin connections lol |
I am interested in this as well.
I bought one of those ELM327 WiFi scanner, but made hell of a lot mess in the car. It lit up like a Xmas tree, with lots of DTCs. The car did not even turned after plugging that thing in. Once I removed it started after a minute elapsed. Greg |
YouTube videos I've looked at all have the OBD to USB lead with the in-line black box.
Haven't seen any with a straight odb to USB cable without the box of tricks in between. Hmm, which cable do I buy? https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?m...2F322997229051 Maybe? |
