Amazon Light Switch

My 1965 122s has broken light switch, no side,display or rear lights, headlights ok.

Checked switch with multi meter and is switch.

Anyone know if they can be repaired or company that can carry out a repair, unable to find a replacement? Nordicar out of stock.

Regards John

John;

I did read that you "Checked switch with multi meter", but are you certain it is not an open Fuse 3 (or even the "Junction Unit" , I call it a Hex Connector, under the Dashboard, pin 4, or Variable Instrument Control)?

Ref Wiring Diagram: https://www.sw-em.com/Wiring_Diagram...Wiring_Diagram
Ref VIC: https://www.sw-em.com/Intermittent_V...ument_Lighting

I have found the Amazon LightSwitch to be a very well-constructed, robust component...that is not to say that it is not capable of failing. I would say if you confirm the problem is within the LS, yours is worth at least a look inside to see if the problem is repairable... See: https://www.sw-em.com/Amazon%20Light...ng%20Notes.htm

Good Hunting!

Hi Ron

Reading through what you said, looked through wiring diagram again realised as you said something other than switch. Corroded fuse terminal, now clean and all working well, simple fix.

I did check fuses first but all looked well, tested for continuation and it failed.

Thanks for help.

Take Ron's advice from his web site about cleaning all electrical connections and applying a zinc bearing conducting grease (such as Ox-gard) to the connections to forestall future electrical gremlins.

Has Ron ever been wrong?

Ron Kwas Aug 5th, 2021 19:16

Jimbo;

Wow...thanks for the confidence!

...but must obviously and honestly say that I have been wrong before...and I try to learn from each occurrence!

Cheers
