1988 240GL reconditioned(?) steering rack - FREE.

Up until about 2012 I ran 2 x 1988 240GL's and a few years before that one of them developed a leaking cross rack hydraulic pipe due to corrosion on the pipe.

The installed rack in use had no other problems - I bought the reconditioned rack just for the the cross rack hydraulic pipes to replace the leaking one.

AIUI they have specially formed ends on the hydraulic pipes so couldn't buy just the pipes.

The remainder of the reconditioned rack was never used and it has lain in my garage since then still wrapped in its bubble wrap.

It is of no use to me and I'd like to get shut to free some garage shelf space.

I can't absolutely guarantee that it is a good reconditioned rack as I never used it or checked it out, I only wanted the pipes - consequently I don't want any payment for it.

IT IS FREE.

It has no cross rack pipes but the rack ports were blocked on pipe removal (IIRC ).

Collection
by arrangement only and no payment is expected.

I don't remember where I bought it from.

If there is no interest within a few weeks I will scrap it.

Is it still available? If so, can you please PM me with contact details.

Thanks.

Yes it is still available.

I will PM you soon.

You are not that far away and, as a long standing forum member, I might have other 240 bits you can take FOC.

The steering rack, along with almost all my other 240 bits, have now gone to loki who collected them a couple of days ago.

Thank You

I'd just like to extend a "Thank You" to Colin for the bits. Some will go on to SFSS or will go with SFSS to its new owner, whoever that might be, while the others will be retained for use on the Exxon Valdez.
