How do I remove this pipe from the fuel pump please?

Just wondering how to remove this fuel pipe from the fuel pump
Do I just pull the hose off the brass piece, or what is the rubber ring part for?

At the base of the brass bit is a black plastic U shaped clip that sits in the grooves of the brass bit, gently pull it away from the bass bit, towards the firewall.

If you disconnect that, bare in mind that you will need a hand primer to start the engine again as the vaccum on the fuel line will disappear.

Great. Thanks a million
I already bought a hand primer a few days ago and have been using it in my efforts to try get my car to fire up.

I tried that plastic clip earlier today and it just crumbled as I tried to move it and I wasn't sure what purpose it served.

So basically, with that removed, the small piece there will pull out of the fitting I assume? With the hose tail still in the hose?

Yup the end of the hose will remain attached to the brass connector.

I have seen a mechanic take a piece of wire like a paperclip and wrap it round the groves, then twist the wire ends to make it tight.

Not sure how long that repair lasted though.

Will give it a shot tomorrow and see how I get on, but will try maybe an o-ring or something which would be around the same size as what was already there when I put it back together.

Thanks again for the response!
