2019 V60 Spare Wheel Size
I'm about to change my 2015 V70 for a new V60 Inscription (2018 built, but as yet unregistered).
The V70 had no spare tyre as is usual, so I bought one after I had the car delivered. It's a 17" tyre. The V60 has 18" wheels. Does anyone with the latest V60 with a space saver in it know the size? I'm wondering if it's the self same wheel given the sizes often differ (my previous V50 for example had 16" tyres and a 14" space saver from memory). |
This shows a 17" spare for the V60

I thought it looked the same, couldn't make out the size. Thank you.

Just had a look at mine

It may not be just tyre/rim size, stud holes and centre hole size may differ, best to check these out as well.

Beware the eBay sellers who claim that their space saver spare wheels will fit the latest V60. I ordered a 16in wheel that the seller said would fit but it nowhere near cleared the brake disc backing plate. So we swapped it for a 17in and that fitted tight on the brake calliper...useless. Finally turned to a seller who sold me a genuine 17in Volvo spare wheel and it had a much bigger internal profile - fitted fine. Cost me £120 for just the wheel and tyre, but I think that’s as good a price as you’ll get and worth every penny for peace of mind. His eBay contact number is 233087291027.
Worst thing about my situation was that I was driving around for weeks thinking I had a suitable spare wheel in the boot but it wasn’t until I got round to testing the fitting that I found out I hadn’t! My wheels are also 18in diamond cuts. |
The one I have is a genuine Volvo V70 17" space saver. As far as I can tell the stud pattern is the same. I imagine I'll just have to try fitting it to the front when I get the car, as the car has 18" wheels but I've no idea if the brakes are larger on the inscription Vs the momentum that has the 17" wheels as standard.

All I can tell you from my recent experience of trying to source a spare for my new V60 is that the earlier V60 spare is not compatible with the new one. So there is a good chance that your V70 spare might not be. I suspect that the rear wheel brake disc and calliper may be bulkier, but I am no expert. Definitely suggest you test-fit it rather than make a rash assumption! Enjoy your V60 - best car I have ever had (by a country mile :confused-smiley-013) !!

I've had some good news today thanks to Chris Gander Caffyns Volvo who has been exceptionally helpful. Today he managed to talk to one of the tech's who had actually refitted a new car for the showroom and had a list of the parts and part numbers. He has confirmed that the wheel size is 125/80/R17 (31471489), list is 102 +vat. The list of parts include all the tools, anchorage and foam holders. I would definitely recommend talking to Chris. Caffyns have an Ebay shop, but don't currently list the V60 Mk2 kit. Chris |
