Timing on B200E running LPG

I've just done a head job on my B200E. I want to check and adjust the timing but am not sure of what it should be. Volvo handbook and Haynes differ; 5 or 10 BTDC. I seem to remember reading that when using LPG the timing should be slightly advanced - is this the case and can anyone suggest what I should set it to?

You need to keep the timing as per book in this case. Provided the head as not had a huge amount taken off that will be fine. If there has been a big skim then you might find it will pink while running on petrol.

You are best not to advance the timing as 1 it will pink on petrol and 2 a backfire is more likely with these engines.

Thanks for the info. I didn't change the timing when I converted to LPG and it seemed fine, but had since seen it mentioned a few times in general comments about using LPG. So should I go with the Volvo handbook at 5 degrees BTDC?
The head wasn't skimmed - the timing belt somehow slipped. I had to replace the exhaust valves. I also need to adjust the valve clearances, two are a bit tight.

What happened to the exhaust valves? The B200E should not damage the valves if the belt failes or moves.

5 degrees BTDC sounds about right to me.

All four valves were bent. I'd looked on here to see if the B200E is an interference engine - opinion seemed divided, however mine is for sure!

Thanks for your help, I'll try it at 5 BTDC.
