weird noise in reverse and first gear
 

last few weeks ive noticed a weird noise coming from the engine bay
sitting at a roundabout first gear i pull away and get a weird noise sometimes while pulling away not all the time tho.
and when selecting reverse and i throttle up i get this weird noise

the noise sounds like a wooden chair being dragged across a wood floor and only happens for about 2 secs ?

anyone any idea what it could be

Hi,
From the little information it could be a number of things.
But , some time ago I had a similar thing with my car.
The usual suspect is to check the tightness of the axle bolts and condition of CV joints etc.
However , this didn`t fix it for me. It turned out to be sticky front brakes.
Replaced the seals and all is well.

Also check the torque mount on the top of the engine...if it has one....
