Volvo V50 2.0d throttle body swap

Good afternoon

After browsing through the forum, I found many answers regarding cleaning and removing the throttle body or ASV but none to my specific doubt.

I own a 2004 Euro 3 (VIN confirmed) Volvo V50 2.0d, I bought it from a private seller and found that I have the twin throttle body instead of the single one...

My car doesn’t have a DPF, never had one and although all car’s documents are correct (I have full official Volvo dealer service history untill 140.000 kms) there seems to be two indicators of an engine swap for a newer one:

First: the mentioned twin throttle body

Second: ECU is Siemens 803A wich I believe was supplied with newer cars

Since I’m in the process of doing some mods to my car (such as an intercooler kit with model specific hard pipes) my question is if I can switch from twin to single throttle body?

Sorry for the long post...

Thanks in advance

Ok, after checking, examine and talking about it with some mechanics, it is indeed possible.

It’s only a matter of swapping bodies, sensores are exactly the same (MAP and IAT) and block the vacuum pipe for the second butterfly.

The intercooler pipes, if your planning to change the intercooler and pipes you won’t bother with this because most likely you’re going custom, if you plan on leaving stock you’ll need the two intake pipes from the single throttle body version.
