T5 / D5 real life acceleration test

Hi
Question to T5 and D5 owners, have you ever tried to measure/record/datalog the performance of your car when accelerating from "city" speed? Im not overly interested on 0-100kmh performance, but would be really keen to compare your 60kmh (40MPH) "floor it" test.
Any gear you want (AT with kickdown or with forced gear) on flat surface, keep steady 60 kmh/37MPH and floor it until lets say 85MPH/140kmh so a bit over highway speed to simulate real life highway traffic merging or overtaking. If anyone fancy to do it and share result or maybe have done it already - would gladly use the data for comparison.
I did a very quick test recently when investigating some issues and I clocked it at 9.5 seconds. I wonder how my boost leak is affecting it, and also what gears are best to do so.
Also- really interested in comparing that to D5.

anyone?
you know, for science :)

Yeah I might give it a go, I suspect my mapped D5 will get there in quicker than 9.5 seconds though!

Im also pretty sure it will :)
if you can also let me know what gear(s) were used to achieve this, thanks :}
I have rough recording of mine here if you want to compare. I suspect I can shave some of the time, maybe by shifting earlier , but I think its pretty much all my car can do at this moment.
(Just to be clear Im not about "who got bigger" rather than how much my boost leak affects me :) )
Really curious about comparison with D5 aswell, must say!

is your car mapped? I will try and record mine at some point as well then.

Great, was wondering if you join :)
S1 Hilton tune, but currently with some undiagnosed boost leak (peaking only 10psi). Still troubleshooting.

This is my attempt 40kmh-140kmh at a my local airfield, slight uphill bend, and to be honest not the greatest shifting on my part, could probably shave half a second off, and should have extended revs in 4th gear.
So what you see is 3rd, 4th, and a silly 5th gear change.

I'd say about 9.5 seconds, very comparable to you, the car is mapped to 215bhp/530nm, and recently nipped up a boost leak but suspect it's still happening slightly.

impressive as even with gear shift you achieved similar result.
You have manual, yes?

I am yet to do another proper test of mine with shifting 3->4, but initial test shows that I loose more time by shifting than by redlining so its possible I simply cant do better.

I did some YT digging yesterday and come across similar tests on other cars, just as comparison:

2015 Mustang V6 - ~8sec

335d - under 8 sec

also some of 0-160 accelerations but I think measuring 60-140 from those is not comparable as it has full boost already when at 60 so probably a tad bit quicker, but still, to compare:

2018 Volvo S90 2.0 T6 Polestar - 8 sec
Superb 2.0TD 200HP - 12 sec

Anyway, interesting results.

Eagerly awaiting Dom's time now, any other T5s - welcome!! :)

These Belgian Forvo 5-pots don't do too bad do they!
Yes my car is indeed a manual, infact my full 'spec' is in my profile.
Will try and get a better video ASAP, tried to use cruise control but the runway wasn't long enough...

Inspired, I tried this last night, but with a twist, it was a straight downhill section, well a vertical cliff face to be fair (1500mtr drop).

The car managed 0-85 in 2.64 seconds!

Just need a new car now...

I hope thats your way of saying "I will do similar test in safe conditions as soon as I can" ? :P

Yobbo - well, I am pleasantly surprised how it compares with new(ish) and more powerful cars. Dont worry too much about precise measuring etc, its just for general idea and reall wont matter if you can do it in 9.2 or 9.5 :}
