Bolt size question for removal of side steps?

Hi,

I am looking to remove the side steps on my XC90 for blasting and recoating and am interested if anybody knows what length bolts are required once the steps are removed?

I have established from previous posts on here that they are M10 & M12 sizes and that the threaded portion of the long bolts (with side steps) is 30mm. So I'm guessing that regular 30mm length bolts will suffice - but in my experience guessing is rarely wise!

Many thanks!

You need 4x M10x35mm high tensile bolts, 4x M12x35mm high tensile bolts, 4x M10x3mm washers and 4x M12x3mm washers.

Torque for bolts are M10 to 50 Nm (37.5 lbf. ft) and the M12 to 80 Nm (60 lbf. ft).
