loss of brake fluid
 
was driving the S40 this morning and the brake pedal and went straight to the floor!! checked the brake fluid which was empty, refilled drove it again and brakes were still gone!! found fluid splattered all over front left wheel and brake servo is still full......please help

Hi - ok it could be that the brake bleeding nipple is loose - you would see fluid around the nipple if thats the case. The hose itself could have burst - look for a crack or crease in it.

Also, the bolt which holds the hose onto the caliper could have failed, or the seal on the main piston itself.

The only thing for you to do is get the wheel off and look around in there. Check the bleed nipple first as its the most likely thing.

ok got the wheel off and found alot of fluid on this pipe
i believe this is causing the problem...whats it called, is it a diy job or off to a garage?

If your handy with a few tools it 'should' be pretty straight forward to replace the suspect flexi pipe

That is horrendous , and unkown for this to happen before i would get it analysed and find out why it has failed ...
