Overhead roof DVD Player
Hi All,
Another question - if i bought an overhead DVD player (which is self-contained with the DVD unit and controls) can I just plug into the wiring loom in the ceiling and use as my understanding is that the lombe will already be there in the ceiling? Anyone have experience of this? Nigel. |
The factory Volvo roof DVD player option uses power, ground, and reverse lights to control it. In reverse, the screen swivels up so that the rear view mirror is not obscured. The wiring loom connector is in the rear, by the right hand taillight.
The factory DVD player comes with a wiring loom from the rear taillight up the D pillar, along the roof (under the lining) to the DVD player location. I also think that you need a metal crossmember fitted to mount the DVD player to. So if you get the roof DVD player from another car, make sure you get the loom and the crossmember as well. |

I assume that the sound from the dvd comes through the speakers? Of would them be only over connected headphones? |
The overhead DVD system does NOT integrate into the car's stereo at all.
There are no other wires other than power, ground and reverse. It uses infrared wireless headphones for the sound. You possibly could wire it down to the AUX IN if you wanted to..... |
