Suddenly none starting XC70
 

Can any one suggest why my 80,000 miles 61 plate D5 won't start? I drove 250 miles in it two days ago with no problems at all. I went to start it yesterday and other than running down the battery nothing. Recharged the original battery, is that a problem in on its own 6.5 years old,? Today the same nothing other than cranking fine. Tried both keys both ways around, still won't start. Nor can I shift it out of park. I don't own any diagnostics and live on Skye so not close to a Volvo dealer, local guys helpful but would like to try to do the obvious first!!

Any suggestions gratefully received...

Plenty of fuel in the tank ? Parked on a slope ?

Plenty of people been caught out with that low fuel before.
