Hi folks

I'm in a better position now to be able to devote a bit of time to arranging our meets and see if we can get the Volvo club off the ground again. Although I think it would be nice to maybe involve other clubs? Saab, De Lorean maybe?

Any thoughts about meetings or venues? BMW guys do a cars n coffee meet every month at Junction 1? I like the Ikea theme just to keep in the Swedish feel.

I'm thinking the 12th March as the weekends after that we fall into Easter?

Open to thoughts and opinions, everybody welcome, even if you (GASP) don't own a Volvo :)

I'd be up for a meet. We had been arranging GTINI meets last year in the evenings if the Volvo crowd wouldn't mind tagging along with them, tried to vary the locations in the country to suit different people on different nights near to coffee for car chats

If we can build on them I'm hoping to arrange a Swedish invasion of Dubshed next year. Might even try and sneak in the 240 this year or my daily will just have to fly the flag ;-)

Up to our eyes at the moment preparing for Dubshed but did say we need to get a meet before the show so i will post on here should anything be arranged. It's unlikely that my 240 will be rolling by then but fingers crossed.

I know this is short notice but it was a short notice decision to hold it.

There will be a GTI Nights Mini Meet this Wednesday 24th February at Applegreen Services M2 Templepatrick from 8pm. All welcome if you can make it. I should be there in some sort of Volvo..

I've the seat base out of my 740 at the minute getting a tear repaired, if its back I would like to come to this but Thursdays are a bad night for me with the kids. Might have to come in the S60 lol

You were quick off the mark, before I got the edit done. It's actually tomorrow Wednesday which is good as Thursdays aren't great for me either. I understand with the short notice if people can't make it and will try to get in earlier with the next one. My 240 has a big hole in the zorst so I might be in the V40 anyway

Can't do tomorrow, already have plans :(

Just read the emails, i would be interested in future meetings.
Thursday nights are also bad for me.

Do you need some where to park in Belfast during the day since you are based there? I can arrange parking at the lagan weir for you any time

Good day had by all who where able to make it. Even had a 744 come by trailer and a Non Volvo guy get excited by the number of old Volvo's gathered in one place!!

Sadly I didn't take any pic's. I forgot my camera and didn't have the sense to use my phone, hopefully some of the other members got some pic's, however the "Non Volvo Dude" did have pictures on facebook an hour later, which hopefully have attached.

Looking forward to the next meet, general feeling is Sunday's suit better, so thinking possibly May Day weekend (1st May) or the weekend's after 8th May or 15th May?

Possibly same format, meet in Ikea multi-story car park and take general rubbish about or cars for an hour or two?

Also we discussed that it may be a better idea to use the thread for future meets and everyone subscribes to this thread, which means you will get an email each time something is posted on this thread.

Was great to meet you all for the first time and shoot the breeze. Sunday sounds like a good plan for future meets, I'm also up for varying the location too, are there any nearby coastal areas worth heading too, I'm just thinking of my stomach :).

Good to meet up even though I was Saab mounted and what must have been the grubbiest 9-5 around. Managed to clean it yesterday so a bit more presentable now. At least I was in something Swedish and not the MG.

There is also a show in Greyabbey in September I have entered my 740 into.

Not done much car shows before, how does it work then, do we need to enter cars. Would like to but not sure the 360 will be ready.
