Best place for a lpg conversion
Hi all - first post since buying my first Volvo, a T6 xc90
My dad convinced me as he runs a v70 on lpg and it gives him best of both worlds - unfortunately the garage that did his doesn't exist now so looking for some good advice on best system to fit and who to go to. Based in Reading but happy to travel a bit for the right system. Considering a BRC system at the moment? Thanks in advance Matt |

I've got a BRC system on my V6 Mazda and a Prins VSI on my 3.2 XC70. The Prins system seems far more technically advanced. Just had a service done on it at Sutton Scotney garage who are a Prins authorised dealer. I'd definately recommend them for any conversion work http://suttonscotneycars.co.uk/

Nowhere near Reading, but mine was done by Mickleton Service Station in County Durham.

LPG installers, Milton keynes and Slough.
I had a prinz system fitted by
https://www.garage-gas4cars.com/ near milton keynes, it was trouble free for seven years. I had it transferred to my current 940 by some london people.(now disappeared). Not impressed. Unresolved fault meant it used far too much petrol (100 quid a month). Now fully sorted by an impressive garage in Slough: http://www.bpvservicing.co.uk/ Look at their google reviews. it was an electrical fault which they sorted in less than an hour. I think they understand both cars and lpg... |
I have a BRC system on mine. Fitted about 40,000 miles ago by New Farm garage in Alresford

I have been in a few lpg vehicles in my time and can honestly say not one ever worked properly. Usually had the check engine light on and stuttering, poor performance. If it were me I would put the conversion cost towards fuel bills (petrol)

If you do the miles well worth the cost saving and reduced environmental impact.
Check engine light is a MOT failure and should not be on with a LPG conversion. Engine should run very close to how it does on petrol provided there is no problem with the engine. |

Just google PRINS and Autogas and you will find your local installers and service people. |

My V70 sits for six months of the year parked up and at MOT time the engine check light is 'almost' always on Normally a wee dash of VIDA sends that away but recently it was back on very quickly with a lambda failure code :-( |
