Major Help Wanted....

Its been a good few years since being on here! -- ok, i'd better give you a rundown about this car before I ask my Q's.

Ok, I have got a Volvo 440Se 2.0 1994 M-Reg. Was my pride and joy about 8 years ago. Was VERY impressed, I bought a few S70's and then steered away from volvos altogether (have a pajero now)... BUT the 440 was ALWYAS kept. It was transferd about 6 times (to me twice before) and my old man had quite a bad car crash in it. This happened about 18 months ago and his insurance company never did anything about it. So, after 18 months of seeing MY baby sat on their drive looking somewhat sad for itself, I decided nows the time to fix her back up.

She's got a fair few miles (almost 200,000) and has the Renault Laguna (I think) engine in it... But I need to locate some spares for it and in the correct colour.

She's a terquoise and I need to locate a drivers door, drivers wing and inner arch for it. May be even an indicator as its half full of water!

The engine does also suffer a squeeching noise almost like a slipping belt BUT it's not a belt, Would anyone know what this may be? I think it is comming from the top of the engine. Any advice for the above would be great, My aim is to get her up and going by end of feb... Ill also pst some pics if I can of my progress too!

Most probably the roller or tensioner for the cam belt. No harm to throw a cam belt kit on it due to it sitting idle for a bit.

It could be a bearing, it has be4en doing it for a while BEFORE it was layed up.

How hard are cambelts on these?

Cambelts are pretty easy following the guide just posted, but the only problem is room to get your hands in. I used the guide very sucessfully, but I was seriously overhaulin the engine (for educational purposes only) so I took the engine out after borrowing and engine hoist. Cambelt kits are really cheap from buypartsby and good quality.
