Volvo Specialists in Newark, Nottinghamshire.

My son has a 1996 S70 2.5 20v Auto. Currently showing approximately 90k it seems to run and idle okay but using the rubber glove over the oil filler trick, it inflates suggesting that the PCV system needs cleaning. Does anyone know a reliable garage in Newark, Notts. He’s just moved there and will need a trusted garage for classic Volvo repair and maintenance. Thanks in advance.

You have Shemtek Automotive on your doorstep, one of the most well respected independent specialists in the country for Volvos. What Shem doesn't know about the 70 series Volvo's isn't worth knowing.

Many thanks for your help. I will pass this on to my son. However, I think he was hoping for a location a little closer to Newark town centre. Leaving his vehicle at Shemtek would be a problem. Cheers and Regards.

Total chancer is Shem - avoid like the plague - let me just clarify this

I used to use Shem not that long ago, going to his unit i would see customers cars with parts of other cars resting up against them, inlcuding my own 850. When i rocked up one day, there was a customers bumper rested up against my own car! Also if he doesn't have a part in stock of cant get hold of a part, he robs it off another customers car to fix another! Also when he mapped my own 850 after a full rebuild (not rebuilt by him i might add), he just simply mapped it by throwing a rake load more fuel at it and thought that ok . So in my experience avoid!
