S40 Fuse number 8 blown

Hi There
I have a 2004 S40 Classic 1.8 which I have owned for 3 years now and the car runs great with everything electrical working
I changed the battery for a new one then found that several electrical items in the car were not working ie interior lights, electric aerial, some functions of the climate control unit (heated seats and rear window demister buttons not working) etc
I checked the handbook and found fuse 8 in the engine bay controls these circuits and sure enough the fuse had blown
Replaced fuse and it blew straight away with no ignition switched on
Any help appreciated
Cheers

Update Fuse 8 blown

Hi Volvo friends
Thought I would update on fuse 8 blown
Booked car into auto-electricians and after several checks they found the battery back up siren for the car alarm faulty and causing the short circuit.
This siren is located under the front OS wheel arch and pretty difficult to remove however it has now been disconnected as not really needed as it is only a back up and the alarm still functions as it should.
Glad its fixed now as I had visions of my beloved S40 heading to the big Volvo scrap yard in the sky which would have made me very sad
Volvo for ever!
