xc90 awd check??
 

Recently purchased a 2006 xc90. Is there any way to check awd is working before my warranty runs out?? Heard something about jacking back end up and trying to turn propshaft?? Cheers

The quickest and easiest test is to stop on grass and get someone to watch the back wheels when you pull away at full power .. if the front wheels spin a lot the AWD isnt working .. THEN you can do other tests to determine where the problem is . The first of which is to try and turn the prop shaft by hand , if it just spins , the angle gear or splined connecting sleeve will have a problem , the propshaft should be permanantly connected to the front wheels ...

You've not come back so you probably got enough evidence.
For anyone else try tying the car to a tree; all wheels on wet grass, then you've got a static vehicle - makes filming easier.
Worked for me.....
