V70 factory bi fuel or convert a car?

Hi all buy a factory bi fuel v70 or buy a
V70 and convert it with a LPG kit?

My recomendation would be to keep away from factory fit.

If you can find a ready converted car using one of the better systems and well installed that will give you the best value.

If you will be keeping the car a long time and do enough miles then buying a petrol car and having it converted will pay off.

100% agree with Classicswede.

If you have a ramble through here you'll find that the one thing Volvo didn't apparently do so well at are factory-fit bi-fuels on LPG! That isn't to say that there aren't good ones out there, but you'll find it a whole lot easier to buy a good V70 then have the conversion done.

Cheers

What about buying a factory fit bi-fuel and running it till it gives a problem. You will already have half the kit fitted e.g. tank, pipework, a cylinder head and valves ready to take a conversion if needs be. So at least when and if you have to splash out on a conversion it should cost a lot less. Anyone see a problem with this?

No reason not to buy a factory fitted car as you will already have a tank and filler in place.

The down side is often factory fit/ converted cars have covered very high milage not a major issue with a Volvo but it would be hard to justify spending good money on car that has already been to the moon and back.

They only made the factory bi-fuel in the 170bhp 2.4 didn't they ? correct me if I'm wrong. So converting yourself or buying a converted one will open up more model options and specs to you.

They only made put the bi fuel on the 140hp v70
