Possible Oil Leak

can anyone tell me why I seem to have engine oil in the pot where one of the spark plugs goes it is the farthest one on the left as you look at the e ngine from the front.
Plus there seems to be a slight drip coming from underneath the car, not sure where that is coming from
The model is a 440 xi
thanks:)

Could be the oil filer cap leaking or the rocker cover gasget has gone.

nope checked all around the filer cap and gasket, nothing, you would expect to see something running down towards the plugs. Yet there is still aslight drip coming from the underside as well??

A HA!!! Mines got that too (440 1.8i) it seem to be because its right under the oil cap, the throttle cable gets in the way when filling, and the rubber boot keeps it there. also does any one know of any common oil leaks from beneath the engine mines loosing loads but i cant see where from. ta.

my 440 got this. the throttle cable gets in the way when toping up the oil and being a clumsy lump i end up spilling some and it always ends up with it in no. 1 plug pot and if you have the original big boot plug leads it stays there.

Same Problem

Same problem here with oil appearing in the plug pots
It rotted the old ht leads eventually, hence why I broke down finally
I bought my 480 last July
In the end, rocker cover gasket and oil filler cap replaced, engine flush, oil and filter change then did the rotor arm, distributor cap and ht leads - no more problems !
