Help to stop 850 t5 going to the grave !
 

Chaps, my beloved t5 was recently broken into and in attempting to start it ( without success of course ) the scum bag smashed the ignition system open. My mechanic who is a good chap but not a Volvo specialist advises a minimum cost of £1500 to restore the central locking and replace the ignition system. Any suggestions gratefully received. Paul

I can supply you with a full set of replacement front andlocks & handles, ignition barrel with keys from an 850 I broke a whole back, the only thing missing is the tailgate barrel so you'll have to keep one of original keys for that. It's a non immobiliser set, so if yours has an immobiliser built in to the key you'll have to cut the chip out of a key & fix it near the barrel on the steering column. £100 posted. Pm me if your interested.

It's a DIY job to replace or probably a few hours of garage fees if you're not feeling confident.

Morgan I may well be v interested but first am gonna contact a member who has offered to advise me on precisely what parts I will need for the ignition - unless of course you are able to assist in which cas I need an email address so I can mail images of the damage.
