The removed parts you can clean with petrol or if you are rich, carb cleaner! I would be careful cleaning up inside the block and around the crank as you could dislodge dirt that then gets into the bearings which would be a bad result. Maybe a wipe around with a lint free cloth. If it doesn't come off that way it is probably there to stay. If you start putting solvents/cleaners up there you could wash oil away from moving parts that will then run dry at next start up, and/or soften dirt that you can't get at/see resulting in it moving and causing damage when you run it up.
All that said, some people run cleaning solutions through their oil systems. I have always felt that to be a bad idea, but recognise that's just my opinion.

I would be tempted to just wipe off any gunk I can see with petrol or paraffin soaked rags. Unless you're doing a total strip down you'll never remove everything.
I never use a flushing oil as it can dislodge particles and block oilways etc
Regular oil & filter changes with good quality oil can help
