Cover removal
 

Does anyone know how the plastic engine cover comes off. 2008 V70 D5.

Just pull upwards.
The cover is held by 4 rubber rings which sit round metal posts.
Have a feel round the edges at the corners (cold engine for safety)

When off check the rubbers are still on the cover not still on the posts.
Don't go at it mad or you could break the places the rubbers are held.

Ditto the above - think you'll find it comes off pretty easily after the first few goes but you could try a dab of vaseline if you plan to take it off regularly - don't make it too loose though.
