Door lock switch on dashboard!!?!
Just noticed that some later 850s had a switch on the dash to lock/unlock the central locking!!
It always annoyed me that to unlock my doors i have to open and close my door to activate the central locking, now i have the button on the driver's door half unscrewed so i can open it that way - still not ideal... Anyway, do you reckon the loom on a 95 car has the wiring for this system? Or has anyone retrofitted it successfully?? Amazed that I am still learning new things about 850s after all these years haha!! :D |
Nobody? :/

If you'd just give in and get an S/V70 you'd have that switch on the door!
The interiors aren't that bad :p |
LOL mate :)
I think the T-5R is the end of the road for me unfortunately :( Newer Volvos just don't do anything for me. Apart from the new S60 but I could not afford one of those for another 15 years -_- |
Where have you seen the central locking switch? Overseas market? I wasn't aware it was an option on the 850. Can you post a picture?

It was on some random video on YouTube, will try and find it again...

I'm thinkin even if the loom won't take the switch there must be a way of hooking it into one of the microswitches in the actuator in the driver's door.
Definitely a worthwhile mod.. |
I've not seen a dashboard switch for the central locking, but if I push the pin down on the drivers door, all the doors lock. They release when I open the door.

I've seen these and always wanted to wire one in. I believe they where an option on 95/96 cars but that was it
There are loads of these switches on ebay but from the united states only. If you ever figure out how to wire one in please let me know has i'd love to have this fitted to one of my blanks. Andy |
