Issues with Sun Roof /Key less Entry /Alarm PLEASE HELP

I just bought my 2000 Volvo S80. 1st week the sun roof quit working and is stuck open. I changed the motor, the I think it is called the sunroof modual (little black box thing next to the sunroof motor), and had the button for the sunroof changed. It still will not close. I was reading about when the keyless entry/alarm siren goes bad it leaks or something and messes up wires for the sunroof. If that is the case can I manually close the sun roof. The sun roof motor does not have a little screw thing that you can turn with a screw driver to close the sun roof.
Is there a way that I can connect the original key fob that came with the car to a alarm siren that I got from the salvage yard? Or was what I read about the alarm siren messing up the sun roof just BS. If that is the case please can any one help me because I have wanted a Volvo since I started driving (18 years ago)I love my car she is so pretty but I am starting to feel like it was a mistake to get a Volvo.
Thanks to any one for taking the time to read this and any suggestions are very much appropriated. Sara

There should be a manual over-ride to allow you to close the roof . have a look in the manual or contact a Volvo dealer for info. Yes the battery in the Alarm can leak but never heard of it causing the sunroof to go wrong. Things like modules and key fobs bought from a breakers yard or E-bay are useless and only useful for the spaer case etc Modules and key fobs have to be programmed to the car and Volvo will only program new parts as part of Volvo security . Try and find a Volvo Independent garage to get it fixed and save some money on labour etc .
good luck with the Volvo they are great cars if maintained well . sounds like you have been a bit unlucky with your first one but dont give up .
Good luck
