The Seagulls got my car@

Hi,

My poor car was absolutely covered in seagulls sh*t the other day while at work and it had been baked by the sun. I washed it all off that evening but it has left blemishes all over the roof and bonnet in what I guess is the clearcoat/laquer. I tried tcut but no joy. Does anyone know of a product I could use that might be able to polish these marks out by hand?

Thanks, I'll have a read through. I was just surprised that t cut didn't even touch them.

I recently had a similar problem.
Bought some Meguires 2.0 scratch x. By hand it didn't seem to do much so I put it on my car polisher (cheap one) and would go at it. Stop check progress, go again and over about 20 minutes on and off it took them out completely. Don't forget you then need to use a Polish afterwards, then wax or what ever you want to use.

Just be careful you don't go too hard at it or you will cause more damage. Also if the marks are too deep you may need a bodyshop to correct it.

T-Cut is woefully outdated and difficult to use by today's standards. Compound polishes have moved the game on a lot. 3M makes some good polishes.

Thanks for the replies. I'll get a good quality polish/scratch remover and give it a go!

A heat gun can also remove bird poo etching.
