Hi,

Disconnect the battery for about half an hour or so.
That should clear the codes and turn that warning light off.

Des. . . ;)

Mandy, just a query but did you change the lambda sensor because the lambda light came on, or did the OBD give a lambda sensor fault code?

The lambda light indicates that the engine management system has found a fault. It is triggered by the air flow meter, lambda sensor, and a few other faults. Other faults may not trigger the light, but are recorded in the OBD unit.

Read this article for details of how to read fault codes: http://www.volvoclub.org.uk/faq/EngineOBDCodes.html

hi

changed because of light and symptoms, such as very poor running, hesitation on acc, occasional cutting out for no apparant reason.

Sounds like the fuel pump relay, or a vaccuum leak after the air flow meter (MAF)
Check the codes.

A simple way I found to reset the Lambda light is to :-

Turn on the ignition so the dashboard lights illuminate, but don't start the engine.
Gain access to the fuse board and remove fuse No.1
Turn off the ignition and replace fuse.
When you start the engine the engine, the Lambda light should stay out (provided the fault has been cured).

This method has the benefit of saving the radio settings.

Gavin

They're "Aurigas" and apparently quite hard to find.

Cheers,
