New gas tank sender question 544

I installed a new sender in my 544. However I am not sure how to properly hook it up . This is a new sender from Napa. Can someone give me advice on the wiring set up.

Will post photo later

This is from my 61 544. Different. The one I replaced was exactly the same. Only one connection the unit is "self grounded"by installation. So trace either lead and see if it is earthed else where. The other lead will go to gauge.

Looks like you will need a couple of female connectors for the gauge. One for a short wire to an nearby tank fixing screw for earth and the other on the end of the existing gauge wire. Lucky dip which is which. It's a neat unit, and being NAPA, probably well priced. Might need the arm adjusted to get the correct calibration to match the amount of gas to the gauge needle deflection. If cheap and all good, a nice find, as the original type are quite expensive. Could be good for Amazons too so post the NAPA number if it all works OK.

I got it to work with this set up. It will need calibrating. Including the VDO model number of the unit. Bought at NAPA for $35USD

hardly any price difference from the one from the one at VP!

You might find this useful if you don't already know about it.
