V70R Exhaust

Can anyone recommend an after market performance exhaust for a 98 V70R.

Best bet is to go to a local custom exhaust place. The aftermarket exhausts are 'ok' but you won't get the choice of pipe diameter, exhaust tip, etc and you'll pay about the same which ever you choose.

If you insist on an aftermarket one, then the BSR/Jetex one is said to be good.

Exhaust.

I installed a duplex BSR exhaust on my V70R snd I can confirm the fitment and exhaust tone was spot on. No complaints.

BSR are total carbage compared to a bespoke system. I had a 3” turbo back made for my 850R for under £800 including 200 cell sports cat, switchable straight pipe and choice of tail pipe

Well I wouldn't go as far to say BSR are total garbage Rich. I couldn't find any fault with it and most importantly it was delivered to my door and in budget, which is what I wanted because most exhaust fitting centers are total garbage and will do a garbage job, unless ofcourse you live near that one respected custom exhaust bloke who will do a half decent job.

Interesting. what sort of price was the BSR? And was that a turbo back exhaust and is yours AWD?

I have just had a full exhaust made from a local ish place. Pretty good job (although exhaust tip no longer central in the bumper cut out) but really expansive. Has solved all my issues with the last exhaust and a good option for those near Falkirk!

I agree, custom is not always best but it you have a local decent place then they can probably do a better job than a 'off the shelf' item. It is good to know what 'off the shelf' items are available. how they fit and sound.

Hi Rich850R,
just what I'm after, who did you use please?

BSR are made by Jetex IIRC - might be able to find a Jetex one for less than a BSR one? Just a thought if anyone is looking for an 'OK' off the shelf solution

Other (better?) ones are Simons and Ferrita, but these tend to be more expensive

A few very good custom places around Yorkshire -

Custom Pipes, Doncaster - http://www.custompipes.co.uk/ (I have used him many times myself, and every system has been spot on, and very well priced - eg 940 Turbo, turbo back stainless system incl 200 cell cat @ £350, albeit a few years ago; Landrover Discovery 4.0 full stainless system incl 2x cats £400, again a few years ago)

Tony Banks exhausts, Leeds - https://www.tonybanks.co.uk/ (Great reputation and had many good reviews in various forums)
