V90/960 Seats into 940

Around a month ago saw a lovely set of grey leather seats for £100 including fronts that were electric.= from a V90/960.

On a search it would seem the fronts would fit but need power supply to them wiring in? Has any one retrofitted? Also presume need to wire in memory function if they have it?

Other issue is estate rear seat latching mechanism is bound to be different.

Do they actually fit a 940?

At some point being a workhorse full leather would be great as wipeable and look very comfortable. Currently have half grey leather in my 1996 940 LPT estate.

James.

Rears fit fine as do fronts but not sure on front electric wiring

As far as i'm aware, the wiring is usually there for the electric seats, just need to plug in and add a fuse.

Might pay to take your drivers seat out, lift the carpets up and find the wiring tucked away sometimes folded and taped back on the trans tunnel or alternatively assume you'll need to run wiring but sounds like a bargain to me.

If you do get them, first thing i would do is to give them a through clean with AutoGlym Leather Cleaner then once they are clean, inspect for any damage, scuffs etc and sort those out with leather dye (i can provide links if you need them) then treat the leather to at least one, if not two doses of AutoGlym Leather Balm.

Before putting them in the car for work use, invest in some nylon waterproof seat covers so when you get in after a dirty day at work, you don't mess your seats up.

Thank you both. Sounds like a good idea. Unfortunately the seats must of sold! They looked great and really comfortable looking! If I find another set I'll ask your advice on cleaning and protecting products.

I'll keep an eye out for another set. Yes seat covers would be used!
Would be a nice upgrade to my 940!

There's a set of half-leather seats James, down in Somerset/Dorset area for £100 :

A bit shabby in places, reckon you'd spend more to get them up to scratch than a decent set of full leather seats would be to start with!

Decent ones don't hang around for long. I got my set for £100 and had a local trimmer tidy them slightly and swap seat bases. I cleaned and fed with gliptone products and they came up lovely. I would link to my thread if I knew how to do it..........hint hint Dave:teeth_smile:

Thanks. I currently have these style of seats in my 940, probably slightly better condition! Looking for a full grey leather set for an estate with electric drivers seat.

Yep, the ones I saw around 2 weeks ago looked fantastic! Sold quickly. Wouldn't want to pay more than £200 for seats that were in good condition. Don't mind Dyeing or cleaning but not all cracked.

It's post #150 the leather stuff seems to start, i've got my preferences set to 20 posts per page instead of 10 so it goes to Pg 8 on mine, might be wrong for others though.

Good evening pals.

I've been doing this today.

75% done but left driver seat.

There is a 2 pin plug (black) which does the heated seat and a 4pin plug which I assume does the electrickery for the seats. Problem is, the existing plug has only 2 slots in, not 4. I think I need to get the wiring plug from an electric seat car and then graft some. Wiring to the back of fuse 7.

Cheers,

Fred
