Oil fiter housing cracked
 

Interesting trail of oil from my gate to the garage led me investigate - only to find a puddle of oil underneath the V40 and an oil trail extending more than a mile from my home. :shocked:

The car had to go to the dealer on a flatbed, and they diagnosed it as a cracked oil filter housing, which apparently is made of some plastic or non-metallic composite material to save weight. Not a good experience ... :angry_smile:

Just glad it happened in the proximity of my home and not on a long desolate stretch of road!
