I do believe for the diesel models it is 10 years or 108,000 mls and the other belts for fan, alternator, air con etc is 10 years or 54,000 mls but I could be wrong as things do change.

Yep on my D5 the cam is 108K or 10Yrs, the Aux is 54,000 not sure on the Age though.

Recomended that both are changed on time, cambelt is obvious but there's been numerous reports of the Aux going & taking out the cambelt at the same time.

Better safe than sorry, dealer is about £100 to supply & fit new Aux Belt

Which XC60? The new VEA engines (4 cylinder) do not have timing belts but timing chains. The T6 6 cylinder also has a timing chain ... it the old 5 cylinder T5 and D5 models that have timing belts that have to be replaced as per previous responses.

The VEA do have a timing belt. Only the T6 has a chain but not a model we have in the UK I don’t think.

All 4 cylinder VEA engines have timing chains ...

Check out the design of these engines!

Hmm I don’t think we are talking about the Same engines here, google the engine and it quite clearly shows a timing belt. YouTube the engine production and you can quite clearly seem them assembled with the timing belt.

This article also clearly states a timing belt is used.

Volvo also stating a belt is used.

I'm not sure why Volvo state 108k (it seems very specific), whereas every other car I've owned has been 10 years or 100k miles.....?
