Best quality water pumps for 940 B230FK

Hi to All

My 20 year old water original Volvo water pump (and gasket) was renewed on my car just a couple of years ago but it has failed and is leaking already

I was aware at the time that Volvo didn't make this part any more and that the OEM ones were inferior and failed quickly (unfortunately I didn't know I could have had my original one rebuilt but I no longer have it)

The one that hasn't lasted five minutes is manufactured by 'First Line'

I am looking for a replacement thats going to last more than a couple of years. I have been told that the Euro car parts ones are short lived and I've also read that the Gates ones are short lived

Any recommendations please?

Are you sure you can't still get them from Volvo ? I'm sure I got a quote from my local dealer a short while ago

If not Brookhouse might be able to advise

Cheers, Mark

Hepa is good, sometimes bad too. Don't know why they fail sometimes. The rubber on the top you should buy only from Volvo. Everything else won't seal and won't last. Good luck,Kay

Bit steep price wise but I seem to remember being quoted well over £70.00

If it lasts 4 x longer it's cheaper

SKF now have about the best pump https://www.classicswede.co.uk/B200_..._18153998.aspx

Hepu are also know to be good but some recent supplied ones going off threads on Turbobricks have cheaped out on the pumps

When I replaced my timing belt a couple of years ago, I replaced the water pump (as recommended) at the same time, the replacement pump was a First Line, like yours, and up to now no problems, did you get in touch with your supplier about the failed one ? must admit though the original Volvo one I took off was not showing any problems so I've kept it.

What does the impeller look like on the SKF one you sell?

It is cast like the original volvo one.

The cheap pumps with a pressed steel one are the pumps with issues
