Estate Tow Bar
I'm looking to fit a tow bar to my Amazon Estate?
Would I have to get this fabricated from scratch or is it possible to adapt one designed for another vehicle? Thanks |
Someone might have one available, they are not exactly rare. Best to get the proper Volvo version if possible. This has the ball/swan neck as part of the bar rather than a ball that bolts on to a bracket.

This a Volvo bar for the Estate. Sorry I didn't take more pics after I gave it a coat of black.

I've got an original Volvo one. Just needs a rub down and a paint, it's rock solid, been in storage for years. Electrics might need a look at I suppose.

In another case of "two countries separated by a common language"...when I first read Ray's post, I thought the "Tow Bar" device he was looking for (as it is commonly known here), was for the front of his vehicle and used for a hard connection to a tow vehicle (often seen here as the manner in which self-driven big camper owners connect and bring along their small secondary vehicle). As an example, see: http://www.hitchsource.com/nsa-tow-b...r-p-32960.html ...but now it is clear to me he is looking for what we call here a "Trailer Hitch". In that case, A69's offer, once media-blasted and given a new coat of paint, should do the trick nicely. See also: https://www.sw-em.com/accessorize.htm#Trailer_Hitches Cheers |
You need to make sure it is an estate one as saloon ones look the same but do not fit

Good man..Thanks Dai. Not sure how to verify this..I don't get anything when I run the numbers on the Volvo label..is there a way to tell whether it's for a saloon or estate? Sure does look the same as Derek's one above.
