Hi 170

Can you tell me the Volvo part number and then I will find a pic and then I should be able to tell you where it is located?

Hi

Pretty sure it will be by the drivers right knee.
Remove the under dash panel, then look up behind the dash with a torch.
It just slips into a metal bracket. Undo the two cable plugs then lift it out, and replace with the new one.
Are you putting in an old one with matching remote, or have you bought a brand new module? How much ?

Managed to find someone breaking a c70 on eBay with a working remote and control module thought it’s worth a try and if it doesn’t work can send it back under eBay rules so nothing to lose costing 30 quid so no money at all compared to getting a fob coded at volvo

When getting a unit from a donor car ALLWAYS note the VIN of the car because if you need afterwards programming of the unit there is no way for the dealer to find the correct PIN for this unit and hence he cant do anything other than reading faults, deleting them and live data.

My V70 has the module behind the drivers side dash panel near all the wiring connectors but it also has oneon the top of the instrument cluster which shows the frequency and the remote type, this one has a coiled antenna inside it so my guess is that you'd need that too??

850 admittedly, but changed my alarm control relay a couple of days ago and like the OP all I had was a remote and the rely. Plug and play with zero issues in terms of central locking or alarm/immobiliser system. Can't get my old remote to code to the new relay though, but the one I bought works fine.

As others have said, by the drivers right knee under the steering column. 3x T25s to remove the panel in the case of the 850.
